Kamil Kuskowski: Feast of Painting

It's hard to imagine a better exhibition in December, before Christmas, than Painting Feast Kamil Kuskowski. In his latest project, the artist offers the viewer to commune with authentic still lifes. As Kamil Kuskowski announces, the exhibition should be seen in two dimensions: as a visual feast and a literal feast. We will admire the compositions prepared by the artist, as well as the best works of old masters reproduced in the catalogues of their work.

The viewer will be able to eat, literally, only fragments of still lifes set by the artist.

Kamil Kuskowski, a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź, despite his young age, already has a lot of achievements, not only as an artist. He is a very active man: in a short time he received a doctorate degree, he is an academic teacher at his almate university, he was a curator of many exhibitions and creates art on top of all this. Without a doubt, he is one of the most interesting Polish artists of the younger generation. His work was noticed by the editors of the latest publication published by CSW Zamek Ujazdowski entitled New phenomena in Polish art after 2000, placing the name of Kamil Kuskowski among 71 living, important Polish artists.

I strongly encourage you to read two, specially written on the occasion Painting Feasts, essays on Kuskowski's work. The lyrics of Sebastian Cichocki and Jarosław Lubiak are two different views on the artist's work. I also recommend reading an interview with the artist conducted by Krzysztof Cichoń to anyone interested in Kamil Kuskowski's work. This is a record of an intellectual meeting between an art historian and an artist who "plays the game with the viewer".
