Czekalska + Golec / Contract Killer

I am pleased to recommend you to read the catalogue prepared on the occasion of the exhibition of Tatiana Czekalska and Leszek Golc in Atlas Sztuki. Sebastian Cichocki in an interview with artists notes that they occupy "a very specific place on the map of artistic practices and strategies in Poland. Consistently transferring the ideological commitment related to the protection of animal rights to the field of art, smoothly moving into the area of activism, ceding the authorship of his works to other beings-genres...". As Cichocki further notes, this attitude has its consequences - artists function somewhat on the periphery of museum and gallery.

Krzysztof Cichoń talks to Tatiana Czekalska and Leszek Golc about avatars, money earned by artists, religious and external principles and internal worldview, artistic education, material and non-material sphere, mosquitoes and fruit flies, out-focus photos and photographing cats. In his text on the work of the duo of artists, Adam Mazur attempts to site them among the phenomena of contemporary art.
