Anna Baumgart: Conquerors of the Sun + Andrzej Turowski: The Locomotive of History

Andrzej Turowski’s book and Anna Baumgart’s film were published by the Książka i Prasa Publishing Institute in collaboration with the Lokal Sztuki Foundation and Atlas Sztuki, as part of the Le Monde diplomatique / artystyka series. Both the book and the film were issued in Polish and English and are available from Empik stores and selected bookshops in Poland.

In one room of the Atlas Sztuki exhibition space, we will show the artist’s film Conquerors of the Sun; in the other, an installation created jointly by Anna Baumgart and Andrzej Turowski.

We have prepared a catalogue to accompany the Atlas Sztuki exhibition of the Baumgart–Turowski project. It includes an essay by Professor Ryszard W. Kluszczyński on Anna Baumgart’s work and another by Professor Ewa Domańska on the book The Locomotive of History. As always, we publish conversations with the creators. Katarzyna Bojarska conducted one of the conversations with Anna Baumgart, and Dr Adam Mazur the other. Adam Mazur also spoke with Professor Andrzej Turowski about the project.
