Łódź Kaliska: Alementarz

It is difficult to find a better end to the next, fourth, exhibition season than the presentation of the work of the Łódź Kaliska group. A group that has been actively participating in Polish artistic life for almost thirty years, with considerable success. We will be pleased, in mid-June, to present at Atlas Sztuki the latest, brilliant project Łódź Kaliska entitled Elementary.

Several months of cooperation during the implementation Alementary This is the second meeting of the Atlas Sztuki and Łódź Kaliska. We met for the first time, implementing the previous project of five artists - Chinese watching the Atlas Sztuki commercial. After last year's presentation Chinese... During the II Łódź Biennale this year the work will be shown in Wrocław, Poznan and Rome. Exhibition Alementary, even before its premiere in Łódź, several foreign galleries are interested.

Traditionally, each exhibition in Atlas Sztuki is accompanied by a catalogue. In the case of Alementary Łódź Kaliska will be a two-part catalogue. In the first part, I strongly encourage you to read the text of Kuba Banasiak - a young art historian, a discovery among art critics of the passing season. In the text entitled Avant-garde in times of horror and grotesque The author interestingly situates the activities of Łódź Kaliska against the background of the activities of other artists in Poland in the 1970s and 1980s. I also recommend reading an interesting conversation with the artists conducted by Krzysztof Cichoń and Andrzej Walczak. A somewhat "cheezy" and one-of-a-kind conversation that shows perhaps not everyone knows the face of Łódź Kaliska and perfectly captures the atmosphere of working on Alementary – full of surprising and funny situations. I would also like to announce the second part of the catalogue, which will be published in the July issue of "Arteon". It will contain a text on Alementary By prof. dr hab. Maria Poprzęcka entitled Initial teaching. Elementary Łódź Kaliska is a multifaceted project, referring to modernity in an interesting and thoughtful way. This presentation Łódź Kaliska cannot be unseen.
