Film Form Workshop
December 16, 2016
The Film Form Workshop, founded in 1970 as a student research society at the State Higher School of Film, Television and Theatre in Łódź, quickly became Poland’s most important avant-garde art formation of the 1970s. The Workshop’s activities continue to inspire many artists and remain the subject of art-historical research. The development of video art in Poland is inseparably linked with the Film Form Workshop. Its pre-eminent place in the history of the Polish avant-garde resulted from the synergy of many factors, which have now been analysed to a considerable extent, although undoubtedly not yet fully understood.
