Who Can Tell a High-Quality Mushroom Cloud from a Cheap Imitation?
Please think about the fact that it matters whether a good quality explosion or a Chinese or Korean fake will happen to us. Of course, the accuracy, quality, range of the weapon with which you kill affects the effectiveness of killing, but not necessarily the one we fight must pay attention to it. War in Ukraine is not a form of rivalry they are able to understand Residents Europe, who, as Tuwim wrote:
"(...) - they see everything about d d z i e l n i e:
That house... that Stasiek... that horse... that tree..."
For now, both we and the media understand everything in the course of the war in Ukraine. What not to understand here: war is only a form of economic and cultural pressure, conducted by means more brutal than usual. Hostile takeover is a term well known to bankers and businessmen. Technicians, engineers, exact and precise minds perfectly understand that it is military technology, its quantity, quality that will determine the course of the war. The economists immediately knew who would win, since the trading balance of both warring parties is as it is.
We look at this war as nineteenth-century townspeople looked at the Crimean War. There is war, but it does not violate the rules of everyday life in the least. It is under control, we observe it, we make every effort not to make it grow. Fires happen, but they certainly won't be an apocalyptic global disaster. This type of Western thinking is unclosed, inconsistent, inconsistent, and it can be dangerous. Treating war as an economic and economic phenomenon that can be calculated involuntarily assumes that the distinctions with which we describe reality still operate. For the West, especially for the West of the second half of the 20th century, such a concept is the concept Cheaper fake. English has developed a particularly rich phraseology: Cheap reprint, cheap imitation, cheap fake, cheap knockoff, cheap copy For more personal: Total sham,Bargain basement stand. It is a phraseology that builds the entire hierarchy of the West, based on a historical sense of "supremacy" and subordination. De facto, war is a brutal form of establishing a new hierarchy. However, there is no such thing as a cheap fake war. From a European perspective, there are imitations of war, something like that J. wrote about. Baudrillard claiming that "There was no war in the Gulf".
The categories of cheapness and preciousness cease to count in a combat situation. They do not "explain" the behaviour of the fighters. That's why guns sell so well. Reminding this in Western culture is perceived as annoying, rude, overly pathetic, spoiling the accepted convention. It is like a constant return to the lost uprisings, difficult to understand for an outside observer.
